A rare cancer survivor, who understands the pains of going through such an encounter.
Ayush Kathuria
A data scientist helping in making sense out of globally scattered data for the benefit of rare cancer patients and caregivers.
After my encounter with a very rare cancer in 2016, I had a very tough time deciding what to do next. I went through a 10-hour long surgery which removed my 3rd stage malignant tumour along with the thymus gland, sections of sac of my heart (pericardium), sections of my lungs and one of my nerves which controls the diaphragm. Post-surgery the opinions of different doctors was varied and it was challenging deciding the right course of treatment since there wasn’t enough meaningful information and data available to help such patients, their families, and/ or Doctors. So it’s my endeavour to help such community through this foundation.
